Established in 1987
Soillerie House was originally a farmhouse and has now been owned and loved by the same family for over 30 years, used as a holiday home. It lies opposite the village church and overlooking Insh Marshes Bird Reserve. Soillerie lies back from the road behind a lawn and (on three sides) walled garden.
Soillerie is now a modern tastefully furnished house. The heating is by radiators throughout and two open fires. The ground floor has a small porch, hall, lounge with TV, DVD, video players and radio/tape/CD players.
There is a second lounge, through to the sun lounge with a TV, DVD and video players. Included in the charge is Sky-Plus (with integral recording and pausing facility), including sports channels and the usual free channels (available to either TV). Utility room with washing machine. W.C. and a walk-in shower.
Upstairs (stair gate available) there are three twin-bedded bedrooms (one a through room) with washbasins. There is also a house bathroom with w.c. , bath and large walk in shower.
Insh is 10 miles south of Aviemore, on the very scenic B970 road which runs from Kingussie along the eastern side of Insh Marshes and the river Spey. There are walks onto nearby moors, hills and forests and down to the reserve. the area also has many species of wild flowers including orchids and animals from the large red deer to the small red squirrel, roe deer, otters and pine martens. The Highland Wildlife Park is nearby and the Reindeer Centre is in the Glenmore area on the road the ski area.
To find Soillerie from the south, follow the A9 north and take the B9152 turn off to Newtonmore. Go through Newtonmore to Kingussie and then turn right onto the B970, signposted 'Railway Station and Ruthven Barracks' (ancient monument). Insh is 5 miles from Kingussie along the B970. Soillerie will be on the left hand side, at the far end of the village opposite the small church. Turn left into the private driveway.
Please note, our post code is not perfect and though gets you nearby, if you use this in a SatNav it placed you 450m North East of our house. The only reason to turn off the B970 is to turn into our private driveway - if following SatNav using a post code and you are coming from the South West, we are 450m before the final turning (i.e. do not turn right). If coming from the North East (Aviemore end), ignore the left turn and continue 450m where we are situated on the Right hand side.
